MNRE Solar Rooftop Subsidy Scheme In Kerala 2023, when compared to the country’s ambitious objectives, India falls behind in the expansion of the solar business. While India has only installed 5GW of solar panels in houses till 2021, they urgently need to attain 10GW per year to meet their 2020 target. India had hoped to install 40GW of solar panels on residential structures by 2021, but it had only installed 5GW by then. The Indian government intends to construct 280GW of solar panels by 2030, which means that 10GW should be built per year.

The government has launched a new project to install solar panels in houses, in which a customer gets solar panels installed by MNRE Approved Solar Power Plant installers. After installation, the vendor has to submit the details of installations like panels and inverters used along with a photo of the solar panel installation to the MNRE. From MNRE the solar subsidy will be directly disbursed to the customer’s account within 30 days of receiving the completion report.

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has announced that residential consumers could install rooftop solar systems through vendors of their choice. They can inform the distribution company (DISCOM) about the installation along with a photograph of the installed system.

Households do not have to go with listed vendors by DISCOMs to install the rooftop solar systems. Residential consumers can inform the DISCOMs of the rooftop solar installation either through a letter or application or on the designated website provided by DISCOMs and the Government of India for the rooftop solar program.

DISCOMs will need to provide net metering to residential consumers within 15 days of receiving the information. The Government of India’s subsidy, which is 40% for rooftop capacity up to 3 kW and 20% beyond that up to 10 kW, will be credited into consumers’ accounts within 30 days of installation.

According to the MINISTRY OF NEW AND RENEWABLE ENERGY, the portal for MNRE Solar Rooftop Subsidy Scheme will be launched soon. Subsidies through Anert will be available through the portal.MNRE Solar Plant Subsidy Scheme In Kerala 2022
